AV Homes, later acquired by Taylor Morrison, has developed Poinciana since the mid-1980s, and a developer is building 787 units of affordable workforce and senior housing at Solivita Marketplace. The proposed Southport Connector, a 15-mile toll road linking I-4 to Florida's Turnpike through Poinciana, would change traffic if built. These Osceola County figures show crowding by trade, though part of Poinciana lies in Polk County: 307 real estate agent establishments (2.82 times typical), 220 residential remodelers (1.66 times) and 287 physician offices (1.63 times).
