The Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, a 2,400-acre property, is a major local employer in lodging, golf, dining and retail, while Silver Sands Premium Outlets adds seasonal retail jobs along Highway 98. Vacation rental management is its own business line, and managers who advertise face the county certificate requirement. Suppliers to these operations, from linen and cleaning to maintenance and staffing, can run business-to-business ads on weekdays.
Real estate and residential construction are the other engine. The county's agents and remodelers are both growing fast, which means plenty of competing ads and plenty of buyers searching for contractors after a purchase.
